IMPORTANT PASSENGER INFORMATION
Effective from May 1st 2009 all passengers on all AerArann routes will be required to have photo identification when they present themselves for check in.This is applicable to passengers who check in online or who check in at the airport.The only accepted forms of photo ID are
- Valid passport
- Valid driving licence with photo
- Valid national ID with photo
- Valid International student card
- Valid Bus pass with photo
- Valid work ID with photo
- Valid Northern Ireland Electoral Card(with photo)
- Valid Nato/U.N.Military ID
- Valid Disability Card with Photo
A child between 12-16 years travelling alone within Ireland or U.K. or between Ireland and the UK must produce a Form of Photo ID

Passenger Information:
Check-In Times
Passengers at all airports should allow for increased security. Before departing for the airport please check your flight is on time and confirm what time your airline requires you to check-in.
As a general guideline, plan to arrive at the airport one hour prior to scheduled departure.
- Check-In at Dublin Airport is in Area 9
- Aer Arann ticket desk is in Area 7
- Check-In closes 30 minutes prior to departure.
- There is now a dedicated security channel at Dublin airport for domestic passengers located to the right of existing security channels between check-in area 12 & 13.

Checked Baggage Allowance:
Weight/Allowance15kgs - per person point to point
For connecting/interline passengers AerArann will allow the passengers to take the other carriers baggage allownace on the flight.Providing they provide proof of their itinerary and details of the baggage allownce of the other carrier.
No one piece of baggage can weigh any more than 30kgs
Excess Baggage
Excess baggage may be accepted if space is available, there is an excess baggage fee of 8/£6.50 per kilo.Cabin Baggage
Cabin Baggage is restricted to one piece per passenger.For passenger comfort and safety cabin baggage must weigh under 7kgs, size small enough to fit in the overhead bin or under the seating in front of you.Special Services Requirement:
If a passenger requires special assistance they should inform staff at time of reservation. Wheelchair assistance is available on request at Donegal and Dublin Airports.Connections:

you pack your own bags; never let someone else do it.
Pack lightly and travel with as little luggage as possible.
there are no sharp objects like scissors, knives, etc in your carry-on baggage.
Put these items into your checked-in baggage.
there are no liquids and gels packed in your carry on baggage. Items such as shampoo, conditioner, liquid foundation, perfume, aftershave, contact lens solution should be packed in transparent re-sealable one litre plastic bag (20cm x 20cm). Only 1 plastic bag is permitted per passenger. containers are no more than 100 millilitres capacity. the plastic bag is sealed (for example zip-lock). Suitable bags are available from most local supermarkets. medicines, special diet products, baby foods larger quantities allowed if essential for use during the trip. Passengers may be asked to prove that these products are genuine. prescription medication is packed in its original labelled container. Medical equipment, syringes, hypodermic needles required for personal use must be packed in the original

Passengers are not permitted to carry the following articles into the security restricted area and the cabin of an aircraft:
a) Guns, Firearms & Weapons ; any object capable, or appearing capable, of discharging a projectile or causing injury, including:
- All firearms (pistols, revolvers, rifles, shotguns, etc.)
- Replica and imitation firearms
- Component parts of firearms (excluding telescopic sighting devices & sights)
- Air pistols, rifles and pellet guns
- Signal flare pistols
- Starter pistols
- Toy guns of all types
- Ball bearing guns
- Industrial bolt and nail guns
- Crossbows
- Catapults
- Harpoon and spear guns
- Animal humane killers
- Stun or shocking devices, e.g. cattle prods, ballistic conducted energy weapons (tasers)
- Lighters shaped like a firearm
b) Pointed/Edged Weapons & Sharp Objects ; pointed or bladed articles capable of causing injury, including:
- Axes and hatches
- Arrows and darts
- Crampons
- Harpoons and spears
- Ice axes and ice picks
- Ice skates
- Lockable or flick knives with blades of any length
- Knives, including ceremonial knives, with blades of more than 6cm., made of metal or any other material strong enough to be used as a potential weapon
- Meat cleavers
- Machetes
- Open razors and blades (excluding safety or disposable razors with blades enclosed in cartridges)
- Sabres, swords and swordsticks
- Scalpels
- Scissors with blades more than 6cm., in length
- Ski and walking/hiking poles
- Throwing stars
- Tradesman's tools that have the potential to be used as a pointed or edged weapon, e.g., drills and drill bits, box cutters, utility knives, all saws, screwdrivers, crowbars, hammers, pliers, wrenches/spanners, blowtorches.
c) Blunt Instruments ; any blunt instrument capable of causing injury, including:
- Baseball and softball bats
- Clubs or batons rigid or flexible, e.g., billy clubs, blackjacks, night sticks and batons

- Golf clubs
- Hockey sticks
- Lacrosse sticks
- Kayak and canoe paddles
- Skateboards
- Billiard, snooker and pool cues
- Fishing rods
- Martial arts equipment, e.g., knuckle dusters, clubs, coshes, rice flails, num chucks, kubatons, kubasaunts
d) Explosives and flammable Substances ; any explosive or highly combustible substances which poses a risk to the health of passengers and crew or the security/safety of aircraft or property, including:
- Ammunition
- Blasting caps
- Detonators and fuses
- Explosives and explosive devices
- Replica or imitation explosive material or devices
- Mines and other explosive military stores
- Grenades of all types
- Gas and gas containers, e.g., butane, propane, acetylene, oxygen - in large volume
- Fireworks, flares in any form and other pyrotechnics (including party poppers and toy caps)
- Non-safety matches
- Smoke-generating canisters or cartridges
- Flammable liquid fuel, e.g., petrol/gasoline, diesel, lighter fluid, alcohol, ethanol
- Aerosol spray paint
- Turpentine and paint thinner
- Alcoholic beverages exceeding 70% by volume (140% proof)
e) Chemical and Toxic Substances ; any chemical or toxic substances which poses a risk to the health of passengers and crew or the security/safety of an aircraft or property, including:
- Acids and alkalis, e.g., spillable 'wet' batteries
- Corrosive or bleaching substances, e.g., mercury, chlorine
- Disabling or incapacitating sprays, e.g., mace, pepper spray, tear gas
- Radioactive material, e.g., medicinal or commercial isotopes
- Poisons
- Infectious or biological hazardous material, e.g., infected blood, bacteria and viruses
- Material capable of spontaneous ignition or combustion
- Fire extinguisher
The following articles shall not be placed in hold baggage:
- Explosives, including detonators, fuses, grenades, mines and explosives
- Gases: propane, butane
- Flammable liquids, including gasoline, methanol
- Flammable solids and reactive substances, including magnesium, firelighters, fireworks, flares
- Oxidizers and organic peroxides, including bleach, car body repair kits
- Toxic or infectious substances, including rat poison, infected blood
- Radioactive material, including medicinal or commerical isotopes
- Corrosives, including mercury, vehicle batteries
- Vehicle fuel system components which have contained fuel
Notes: Any sharp objects in checked-in baggage should be securely wrapped to prevent injury to screeners and handling personnel.
